For more than 60 years, the NRAEF has recognized excellence in military foodservice through evaluations, recognition, and training. Branches send winners from around the world to Chicago to receive awards for best-in-class food quality, food safety, cost effectiveness, and efficiency. With over 500 guests in attendance, the NRAEF’s Military Foodservice Award Dinner is widely regarded as the premier event honoring excellence within US Military Foodservice.
Held during the annual National Restaurant Association Show, individuals and teams from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces are honored at the Military Foodservice Awards Dinner and ceremony. Awardees are recognized for their commitment to foodservice excellence in management effectiveness, force readiness support, food quality, employee and customer relations, resource conservation, and training and safety awareness.
In conjunction with the Military Foodservice Awards, the NRAEF trains military foodservice managers on foundations of the established industry standards of restaurant management and exposes each to the current innovations of the Restaurant and Foodservice industry. Aspects covered include customer service, cost control, leadership in a restaurant setting, and healthy eating.
While in Chicago, award winners attend the National Restaurant Association Show as part of the management training. Additionally, networking opportunities are created to display the depth and breadth of the restaurant industry. When these talented service members choose to separate, they are aware of the ample opportunities waiting for them in America’s restaurants.
