2018 MG W.P.T. HILL MEMORIAL AWARDS WINNERS FOR FOOD SERVICE EXCELLENCE

The Major General W.P.T. Hill Memorial Awards competition encourages excellence in garrison and field food service.  The competitive spirit fostered by the Major General W.P.T. Hill awards program contributes to improved food service excellence and increased quality of life for our Marines and Sailors.  Commands participating in this year’s competition are commended for their hard work and commitment to excellence.
It is a pleasure to announce the results of the 2018 Major General W.P.T. Hill Memorial Awards competition for Food Service Excellence.  The Commandant extends congratulations to the following winning mess halls and field messes:
Best Management and Mess Attendant Mess Hall:  Mess Hall 4417,Camp Courtney, MCIPAC-MCB Camp Butler, Okinawa, Japan.
Best Full Food Service Mess Hall:  Mess Hall 227, MCIEAST-MCB Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Best Field Mess:  II MEF, II MSB, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Best Reserve Field Mess:  4th Combat Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, Baltimore, MD.

Award winners are honored at the NRA Educational Foundation Military Foodservice Awards Dinner on Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Hyatt Hotel in Chicago.. The dinner is attended by Foundation sponsors, senior military officials, National Restaurant Association (NRA) board members and National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) trustees, as well as other restaurant and foodservice industry leaders.
