Contractors with L.S. Black Constructors of St. Paul, Minn., worked on two new dining facilities at Fort McCoy, Wis., during December 2018.
The first is a new $13.5 million, 1,428-person annual training/mobilization dining facility in the 1800 block. Work began on this facility in May 2018 and is slated to be completed in mid-2019.
Second is the construction of a 1,428-person annual training/mobilization dining facility in the 2400 block at Fort McCoy and will be done in late 2019.
Both projects are coordinated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin. The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
