New food kiosk opens at Fort Campbell

Private First Class Jalen Barner and Pfc. Tyron Walker, both of 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), check out at the register Jan. 28 at the new Fort Campbell Culinary Outpost. Both say being able to use their meal card at the Outpost, located within the 1st BCT footprint, will be convenient when they can’t get to the dining facilities.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Jan. 28 for the brand new Army Outpost food kiosk at Fort Campbell in Kentucky.

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support worked with the Army’s Joint Culinary Center of Excellence and prime vendors to establish the kiosk at the base.

Customers will be able to get fresh, ready-to-go items at the kiosk, including sandwiches, salads, and heat-and-go entrée items. A total of 152 patrons visited the kiosk on its first day.

This is the eighth kiosk to open as part of the Army’s food modernization project, which also includes a fleet of food trucks stationed in the United States and around the world.
