This year marks the 65th anniversary of the Hennessy Trophy competition. The Hennessy Trophy is an annual award presented to installations with the best Food Service Programs in the Air Force. Winners are selected based on their display and execution of excellence in Management Effectiveness, Force Readiness Support, Food Quality and Production, Employee and Customer Relations, Training, and Safety Awareness.
We are proud that we could develop an alternate evaluation solution for 2021 to continue the “Hennessy” tradition while maintaining the integrity of the program. Hennessy evaluation teams were comprised of Air Force Services Center, Food and Beverage experts and National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation civilian culinary professionals. The teams conducted comprehensive virtual evaluations of the top four nominated installation food service operations in each region. Several hours were spent on zoom calls conducting a virtual walk through of the operations to ensure a thorough evaluation was accomplished. Both Civilian and Military evaluators noted the food service professionals at all operations did an outstanding job and represented their installation with distinction.
In addition, the evaluation teams conducted virtual interviews of food service professionals recommended by leadership who have proven exemplary in their day-to-day duties and have shown the highest standards of professionalism, attitude, and culinary skill. The following Airmen have been selected as Hennessy Traveler Association (HTA) award nominees.
Region 1 (East) HTA nominees:
Eglin AFB FL – A1C Jessica Briggs
Little Rock AFB AR – SrA Brandon Murray
Whiteman AFB MO – A1C Brandi Rich-Scott
